ASTM A516 is a standard developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) for carbon steel plates for pressure vessels. It covers four grades: Grade 55, Grade 60, Grade 65 and Grade 70. A516 Gr55 is the lowest grade among them, with a minimum yield strength of 30 ksi (about 205 MPa) and a tensile strength range of 55-75 ksi (about 380-515 MPa).
