321 (UNS S32100) is a very stable stainless steel. It can maintain good resistance to intergranular corrosion at temperatures of 800-1500°F (427-816°C) when chromium carbides are precipitated. Due to the addition of titanium to the composition, 321 stainless steel can still maintain stability when chromium carbides are formed.
