304L stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel that offers excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature strength, and good weldability.
304L stainless steel coil refers to coils made from 304L stainless steel. The "L" in 304L stands for low carbon. The low carbon content results in less carbide precipitation during welding, which reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion and improves resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Additionally, the low carbon content makes it less susceptible to sensitization, a process that can cause cracking and corrosion in higher carbon content stainless steels.
