301 is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel with a minimum nickel content of 6%. It is used in applications that require high strength and corrosion resistance, such as springs, electrical components, stampings, connectors and belts.
The most common grade is AISI 301 (in 1.4310).
301 stainless steel pipe has excellent formability, good weldability and high strength. It has the highest yield strength of all austenitic grades. This means it can withstand high compressive loads without excessive cracking or deformation.
