304L stainless steel is a type of stainless steel with a low carbon content. The "L" in its name stands for "low carbon".
Compared to regular 304 stainless steel, 304L has better corrosion resistance, especially in corrosive environments. The low carbon content provides better resistance to intergranular corrosion that occurs during welding.
