Q235B Carbon Steel Pipe
Q235B carbon steel pipe is a common carbon structural steel, belonging to the medium-quality grade material of the Q235 series. Compared with Q235A, its significant advantages are higher quality control and better impact toughness.
The "Q" in the grade represents yield strength, which is taken from the first letter of the pinyin of the word "Qu", "235" means that the lower limit of yield strength is 235MPa, and "B" indicates that its quality grade is B, which needs to meet the requirements of the 20℃ normal temperature impact test.

In terms of cold processing, the material can easily complete bending, punching and other operations, and the 180° cold bending test with the diameter of the bend equal to the thickness of the specimen is qualified, meeting the forming requirements of complex components. Compared with Q235A, the lower limit of the working temperature of B-grade steel is extended to -20℃ (need to be verified in combination with specific working conditions), so it has more advantages in the application of outdoor steel structures in northern regions.
According to national standards, Q235B is usually supplied in a hot-rolled state, and iron oxide is allowed to exist on the surface. Sandblasting or pickling surface can also be provided according to demand. In addition to conventional tensile and bending tests, quality inspection must also conduct a V-notch impact test at 20°C to ensure that the material toughness meets the standard. Compared with Q235A, its production cost is about 5%-8% higher, but compared with Q235D steel that needs to ensure -40°C impact toughness, it still has significant economic advantages.
