304 stainless steel Material:
304 stainless steel, also known as 18/8 stainless steel, is a common material among stainless steels. 18/8 stainless steel means it contains more than 18% chromium and more than 8% nickel. 304 stainless steel is resistant to high temperatures of 800°C and has the characteristics of good processing performance and high toughness. Difference between SS 304J1 and SS 304:
Composition difference: The main difference between 304J1 and 304 is the addition of copper (Cu). 304J1 contains 0.8% to 1.5% copper, while 304 stainless steel contains almost no copper.
Processing performance: Due to the addition of copper, 304J1 shows better ductility and deep drawing performance during cold working, which is suitable for the production of parts with complex shapes. In contrast, 304 may be more susceptible to hardening during deep drawing and stamping.
Corrosion resistance: Although 304J1 has comparable corrosion resistance to 304 in most environments, the corrosion resistance of 304J1 is slightly inferior to that of 304 in very harsh corrosive environments (such as high chloride environments).
Applications:
304j1 stainless steel coil is mainly used in thermos cups, vacuum flasks, second-class tableware, sinks, gas stoves, combustion parts, etc., and is especially suitable for deep processing purposes.
