Generally, sulfur is ≤0.050% and phosphorus is ≤0.045%.

 

▪Among them, "Q" is the first capital letter of the Chinese pinyin of the word "Qu" for yield, and the following number is the minimum yield point (σs) value of the grade.

▪Therefore, Q235 represents carbon structural steel with a yield point (σs) of 235 MPa.

 

In the GB700-88 standard, carbon structural steel Q235 is divided into four grades of A, B, C, and D according to metallurgical quality. The Si content of each grade of steel is 0.3%, and the difference lies in the carbon content and sulfur and phosphorus content. The carbon content of grade AB is 0.14%~0.22% and 0.12%~0.20%, the carbon content of grade CD is ≦0.18% and ≦0.17%, grade A has the smallest Mn content, and grade D has the smallest SP content.
